We love that autumn is all about pumpkin everything, but we're not so keen on the connotations that come with it. Why does Pumpkin Spice Latte have to translate to “truckload of sugar”, and how do we make it stop?!
We love a P.S.L as much as the next girl - well, a skinny P.S.L. that is - but what we really crave at this time of year is a delicious pumpkin smoothie for a fuelling breakfast or tasty snack.
All you need to do is blend natural, healthy ingredients with some warming spices and a not-too-devilish sweetener of your choice (we’re always cool with honey or maple syrup) and hey presto! You have yourself a creamy, seasonal treat!
- 1 cup steamed and mashed pumpkin
- 4 tbsps yoghurt (we love Alpro’s plant-based almond yoghurt)
- ½ cup almond milk (you can use regular if you prefer)
- ½ cup rolled oats oats
- A good shake of Cinnamon + Ginger
- small handful pecans
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup
Pile all the ingredients into a high speed blender and blitz until combined.
